Tickets for Freshman/Sophomore SEMI ON APRIL 13TH WILL BE ON SALE THROUGH FRIDAY, MARCH 31ST. Tickets are $35 and will be sold at all three lunches, or can be bought through Freshman and Sophomore Student Council representatives.

 

WHS production of Cinderella is still looking for cast members.  Boys are needed for soldiers and palace guards, girls for town’s people.  No experience needed.  See Mr. Farrell in the auditorium after school.

 

The DEBATE CLUB will meet after school TODAY in Ms. Alves' room 230 to discuss next year's resolve, fundraising and reminisce about this year's season.  Anyone who is thinking about participating in debate next year is welcome to attend to learn more and meet new friends.

 

MCAS MAKE-UPS will take place TODAY & Thursday this week.  Students requiring participation will be called down to their assigned testing rooms each day and teachers will be notified with a make-up list.

 

ATTENTION SOPHOMORE AND JUNIORS- COLLEGE INFO NIGHT will be TONIGHT at 6:30pm.  All students and parents are welcome to attend.

 

ART CLUB will be meeting TODAY after school in room 107 until3:00.

 

COMMUNITY CLOSET is in need of Spring & Summer Clothing.  Drop off in room 102 please.

 

GALAXY will meet Thursday at 2:00 in room 105. See Ms. West or Ms Alves if you cannot attend.

 

The BAND is hosting a DONATIONS DRIVE FUNDRAISER.  They are accepting clothing and household goods to be brought to Savers.  Donations may be placed in the boxes in the school lobby this week or may be brought to the trailer in the parking lot on Saturday, April 1st from 10:00-2:00 during the Into the Arts Festival.

 

SPRINGFIELD NATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR will be held on MONDAY, APRIL 3RD at the Eastern States Exposition.  Guidance will be brining 50 students.  Bus leaves at 8:30 to attend the fair and leaves at 11:00.  SIGN UP IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE TO PICK UP PERMISSION SLIP

 

Attention All Juniors & Seniors- A reminder to anyone bringing an outside guest to prom, ALL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND HANDED IN BEFORE YOU CAN BUY TICKETS. Any questions go to room 336.

 

 

 

 

 

SENIOR INFORMATION

 

Attention all Seniors-Senior events will be starting soon, please remember all obligations and dues must be paid in full in order to buy tickets to any event or to participate in any Senior events.

 

 

There will be a SENIOR SKIT meeting on FRIDAY in room 336 at 2:00pm for those SENIORS who would like to participate.  If you can’t make the meeting but want to help, please contact Paige Stawacz.  Hope to see many of you there.

 

SENIOR LUAU TICKETS will be on sale through Friday during all 3 lunches for $12.00.  Come and enjoy an evening of dancing, costume contest, limbo and more on Friday, April 7th from 6:00-10:00pm.  Reminder to clear your obligations!

 

CAREER CENTER INFORMATION

 

A representative from the Air Force will be here THURSDAY APRIL 6TH all three lunches.

 

We will hold a second ASVAB TESTING session on Monday April 10th at 8:30 am.  Testing is open to students looking to improve their previous scores, or 1st time examinees.  You must sign up in the career center in order to test.

 

The Department of Conservation will be here Tuesday April 11th all three lunches to talk to students about job opportunities for summer positions.  

 

STCC will be here on Thursday April 27th running an instant acceptance day. Please sign up in the career center and get instructions to help you through the application process.

 

THERE ARE UPDATE JOB PACKETS IN THE CAREER CENTER. CHECK OUT THE POSTINGS OUTSIDE OF ROOM 110.

 

ATTENTIONS SENIORS - THE FOLLOWING SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE AND ARE ONLY OFFERED TO WHS STUDENTS:

 

Josephine Petros Nursing Scholarship-for students entering the nursing field

 

Eleanor Larabee Career Center/Guidance Student Assistant Scholarship - for seniors who have been student assistants

 

Francis X. Martone Scholarship - no specific criteria is required

 

Janice Butcher Memorial Scholarship-must have hispanic heritage 

 

Westfield Girls LaCrosse Scholarship-available to female lacrosse players

 

Ray McDonald Scholarship-for students who have played a high school sport

 

In addition to these scholarships there are approximately 30 other scholarship applications available in the Guidance Office please stop by and take advantage of this opportunity!!
